The Dizzy Gillespie All Stars perform as an ensemble of up to 10, and the program material is based on the music of the 40s and 50s. This includes tunes such as “A Night In Tunisia”, “Anthropology”, “BeBop”, “Birks Works”, “Blue ‘N’ Boogie”, “Con Alma”, “Dizzy Atmosphere”, “Groovin’ High” “Hot House”, “Oop-Pop-Sh’-Bam”, “Ow”, “Salt Peanuts” and many others.

One of the most in-demand trumpeters in jazz and beyond. Freddie has been working with a wide range of artists from Dizzy Gillespie All-Star Big Band, to Stevie Wonder, and Alicia Keys.

John Lee

John Lee

Bassist, producer, composer and audio engineer, performing and recording in the trumpet master’s legacy. After Dizzy’s passing, his family asked John to create an ongoing tribute to the great man and his music, and the Dizzy Gillespie All-Stars was born.

Mark Gross

He credits his prolific sound to the rich appreciation for Gospel music that resounded through his parents. Mark has toured the world with various musicians.

Roberta Gambarini

Roberta Gambarini

She surprised the jazz world by finishing 3rd in the 1998 Thelonious Monk Vocal Competition barely after 2 weeks of arriving in the United States. Roberta appears at major concert halls, festivals, and clubs around the world.

Ron Wilkins

Ron Wilkins

Has been performing tenor and bass trombones, euphonium, tuba, bass trumpet and vocals for over forty years. Ron is a member of two big bands and runs his own New York City big band.

Steve Davis

Steve Davis

Is a leading voice on trombone, appears in The Jimmy Fallon Show with Steve Wonder and The White House Tribute to Ray Charles. Steve’s original composition appears on McBride Big Band’s Grammy Award winning release, Bringin It (2018).

Vince Ector

Vince Ector

A leading drummers on the jazz scene. Vince has been featured on 50 recordings. He is also active in music education as a university lecturer and founded Arts For Kids.

Has received many awards, and to develop his skill, he went to Switzerland and trained at a 5-star hotel in Europe. Masashi travels at least once a year to be inspired by new ingredients, skills, chefs and producers. Masashi also focuses on creation of food for foreign guests.
